Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy (OT) plays an important role in supporting children and their families at home. It helps them overcome challenges and thrive in their daily lives.
OT is empowering kids to participate in essential daily activities (or "occupations") such as play, learning, social interactions, and self-care.
What does your child want or need to do?
That's what OT will work on!
OT may address developmental delays, sensory processing, sensory integration challenges, gross and fine motor difficulties, or behavioral challenges.
Any of these may affect a child's ability to participate fully at home, in school, and in the community.
The OT process includes:
Individualized Evaluations: The occupational therapist collaborates with the family to understand the child’s unique needs and identify specific goals.
Tailored Interventions: Designed to enhance the child’s abilities in key areas like self-regulation, sensory processing, and daily tasks, while also building skills for independence and social engagement.
Ongoing Outcomes Assessment: Regular evaluations ensure that the goals are being met and interventions are adjusted as needed to support the child's progress.
Services may also include evaluating the child’s school environment to identify ways to improve accessibility and success, recommending adaptive tools while teaching families how to use them, and providing education and support for parents and caregivers.
Our Services Include:
Primitive Reflex Integration
Self-Regulation Skills
Motor Skill Development
Coordination
Sensory Processing
Self Care Skills
Occupational therapy takes a holistic and collaborative approach, adapting environments and strategies to fit the child’s needs while ensuring that families are active partners in the therapy process. This family-centered approach helps create a nurturing and supportive framework for the child’s growth and success.
